Algeria's trade deficit jumps to 35.5 percent


(MENAFN) Algeria's trade deficit reached USD9.8bn in the Jan-May period of this year, a 35.5 percent increase from the same period of last year.

Moreover, oil and gas exports, which accounted for 93 percent of Algeria's whole exports, declined 37 percent to USD9.13bn in the cited period.

Meanwhile, the value of total exports during the period dropped 36.2 percent year-on-year to USD9.82bn.

On addition, world oil prices declined by more than half since June 2014 as oil output grew whereas growth in demand slowed.
