Oman- Sultanate Lithuania hold consultation sessions

Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al Busaidi secretary general in Oman's Ministry of Foreign Affairs met Linas Linkevicius Minister of Foreign Affairs and Juras Pozela Minister of Health of Lithuania as part of the seventh bilateral political consultation.

The meetings exchanged viewpoints on a number of issues of common concern as the two sides expressed their keenness to continue enhancing the relations and cooperation in various areas to serve joint interest.

Both sides stressed on the importance of economic technical and scientific cooperation. A round of detailed consultation was also held with the deputy foreign minister. During the consultations the two sides expressed their determination to sign pacts in the areas of health higher education and aviation as well as protecting and encouraging investments and avoidance of double taxation. They reviewed potentials and opportunities to enhance cultural and tourism ties as well as cooperation in the areas of fisheries agriculture and scientific research.

The meetings were attended by Plenipotentiary Minister Abdulaziz bin Moosa al Kharousi deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' secretary general office department and H E Asta Skaisgiryte Ambassador of Lithuania to Oman. Boleta Senkiene honorary consul of Oman in Lithuania and a number of officials from both sides took part in the meetings.

The sultanate's delegation comprised a number of Omani businessmen who held meetings with their Lithuanian counterparts within the framework of the mutual interest of the two countries to enhance ties in the economic and industrial fields.
