Russia, Algeria share views on Libya Mali crises- Lavrov


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ALGIERS Feb 29 (KUNA) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has appreciated Algeria's efforts for settling the crises in Libya and Mali saying that Algiers and Moscow share views on both issues.The two countries agree that settling an international crisis has to be based on the criteria of the International Law and the UN Charter Lavrov said.He stressed the respect of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries as well as avoiding any impact on their internal policy.In the meantime Lavrov lauded Algeria's stance toward the Syrian crisis and expressed appreciation to Algerian "friends" for their support to the Syrian Support Group (SSG) chaired by Russia and the US.He also called for speeding up efforts toward a settlement of the Palestinian cause through the relevant UNSC resolutions and all other international commitments.The Russian chief diplomat noted that his visit to Algeria was an opportunity for coordinating views on international issues.Referring to the falls in oil prices Lavrov said his country had opened a dialogue between OPEC and non-OPEC members in this regard adding that Algeria would carry on with efforts to conclude a balance in interests of exporter and importer states.
