Turkey, Korea Telecom ink deal to bring 5G-like internet

(MENAFN) Upon sealing a promising agreement with Korea Telecom at World Mobile Congress (WMC) in Barcelona, Turk Telekom intends to bring 5G Internet to Turkey by April 1.

According to the latest reports, the contract was struck on Feb. 22 at the famous Barcelona fair with the participation of leading telecommunications authorities from both nations.

In particular, in order to reach speeds that 5G tech offers, the country's current 4.5G services will be joined with Wi-Fi connection, allowing smartphones to hit speeds of 1gigabit per second.

"We are ready to deliver the highest 4.5G capacity to our users with our 1800 MHz frequencies and wider fiber infrastructure very soon," stated an official from Turk Telekom.
