Qatar- Diversion on Temporary Truck Route

Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) will implement a temporary closure and diversion on both directions of Temporary Truck Route on 1.5km from Dukhan Highway towards Lusail northbound as shown in the map.

Ashghal will close the roundabout on the route and the two roads branching from it to Umm Al Afai petrol station westbound and the access to Al Rayyan Stadium and Umm Al-Afai eastbound.

Diversion begins on Friday 26 and lasts six month in coordination with the Traffic Department

Traffic will be diverted to a newly constructed two-lane dual carriageway and a roundabout adjacent to the closed road and roundabout on the western side as shown in the map.

Speed limit will be reduced to 60kmph throughout the diversion route to ensure safety of road users and the project’s workforce.

The diversion is required to carry out works on an access line tunnel which will pass through New Orbital Highway and Truck Route Project-Salwa Road to North Relief Road (Contract 2). Ashghal will install signs advising motorists of the diversion and has urged road users to abide by speed limits and follow signs for safety.
