Tunisian Amb. praises KRCS' efforts in humanitarian sphere


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT Feb 18 (KUNA) -- Tunisian Ambassador to Kuwait Ahmed bin Al-Sagheer said here on Thursday that the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) plays a great role in the various relief and humanitarian activities domains.
He expressed in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) after meeting KRCS' President Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer his appreciation for the role of the KRCS in aiding people affected by natural or man-made disasters as well as its role in the alleviation of human suffering.
He explained that the designation of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as a "Humanitarian Leader" was in line with the significant role His Highness always plays in addition to his unlimited support for humanitarian action through several initiatives to relieve people of the world regardless of race sex and religion which has contributed to enhancing the status of Kuwait internationally.
He added that Kuwait has earned the title of a "Humanitarian Center" thus giving it a great prestige and respect in the international arena.
For his part Al-Sayer stressed the importance of the significant role of KRCS in relief and humanitarian work especially for Syria Sudan Gaza Iraq and Yemen pointing out that humanitarian work is facing great challenges and that all efforts must be harnessed for this purpose.(end) akw.tg
