Qatar- Ministry survey assesses public preference of transport mode

DOHA: The Ministry of Transport and Communications is conducting a survey seeking feedback from citizens and residents about their preferences for different modes of transport and mobility services.

The telephone survey is part of an ongoing project to develop a long term policy and strategy for Qatar’s transport sector.

The ministry has urged the public to participate in the survey which is being carried out by IPSOS a leading international market research company. Detailed and accurate responses from the public will help the ministry to develop and establish quality mobility services meeting the requirements of all said the

ministry.

The ministry recently assigned a team to develop the long term policy and strategy for Qatar’s transport sector. It will be published later this year after official approval said a statement.

The ministry is conducting workshops involving a number of government and private sector entities as part of consultations to develop the strategy.

Efforts are on to bring all stakeholders in the sector under the umbrella of the ministry to ensure the development and provision of world class transport infrastructure and mobility services for the public as well as Qatari and global businesses said the ministry.

“Qatar’s modern transport sector will aim for financial and ecological sustainability innovation accessibility and inclusion for all citizens as well as attracting and enabling economic diversification” said the statement.

The ministry has appointed Strategy& a global management consulting firm (part of PwC) to support it develop the strategic plan.The Peninsula
