Moderate Rainfall Forecast in Morocco From Sunday


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Morocco's National Directorate of Meteorologyforecast on Fridaythat moderate rains are expected from Sunday until Tuesdayin the north and east of the Kingdom with significant snowfall in the High and Middle Atlas regions the Rif Mountains and the hills of the Oriental region.

The Directorate expected a change in weather that will be accompanied by moderate to strong winds of up to 70 km/h is expected in the north and east of Morocco during the next two days.

As a result of the rain and snow the temperatures will significantly decline in the interior regions of the country and in the Atlas which are expected to reach 5 to 10 degrees below the seasonal normal temperature.

The same source added that the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean will be very stormy with waves' reaching 5-6 meters in height.

The National Directorate attributed this change in the weather situation to an approaching atmospheric depression in the north of the Kingdom. This year Morocco has experienced a dry season that might be among the driest years that the country has ever known.
