(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) For its part the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia keen to introduce its civilizational scientific and cultural heritage to the Japanese people has organized the Saudi scientific and cultural week in Osaka Japan's second largest city which included a photo exhibition illustrating the march of bilateral relations between the two countries since their inception in 1909 when the first Japanese pilgrim so-called Omar Yamaokataro visited the Kingdom had an encounter with then-late King Abdulaziz Al Saud and issued a book titled "a Japanese in Makkah".
A number of lectures and symposia were held to herald the common issues of interest to the educational and cultural planners in the two countries most prominent were the symposiums on Human Development Challenges in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Japan the mechanisms of promoting the Saudi Japanese cooperation in the field of environment and renewable energy and educating Arabic Language in Japan.
In this regard the Arab Islamic Institute was established in Tokyo in 1982 to provide Arabic language service to the Japanese interested people and help offer a new tool to achieve the cultural harmony between the peoples of the two countries. The institute continues ever since its inception to extend bridges of communication and contact between Saudi and Japanese peoples through its scientific cultural and civilizational mission amid the current generous support and continuing care of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
