Palestine- Occupation Authorities Close Ibrahimi Mosque for 2nd Day

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Israeli occupation authorities closed Tuesday all the corridors and yards of the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron in front of Muslim worshipers under the pretext of the so-called the Jewish New Year.

Sources in the Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs explained that the occupation authorities closed the Ibrahimi Mosque for the second consecutive day under the pretext of Jews celebration of the Jewish New Year. Israel also decided to close the Ibrahimi Mosque next Thursday under the pretext of the so-called Days of Repentance.

The mosque caretaker Munther Abu al-Feilat said that the closing the Mosque in front of Muslim worshipers, preventing the call to prayer (Athan) and allowing settlers to seize the mosque represents a flagrant challenge for the feelings of Arab and Muslims and an effort to Judaize the mosque.

He added that this is also a violation of the freedom of worship guaranteed by divine laws and a flagrant violation of human rights charters and international conventions.
