(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Egyptian security forces have reportedly detained Agriculture Minister Salah Helal, shortly after he resigned his post over corruption allegations.
According to local media, Helal was arrested at central Cairo's Tahrir Square.
Earlier Monday, the Egyptian cabinet said that Helal had tendered his resignation upon orders from President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and his resignation had been accepted.
The resignation came a few days after reports surfaced about corruption in the Agriculture Ministry.
