Kuwaiti art wows Algerian audience in Constantine exhibition




(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwaiti craftsmen held an exhibition in the venerable Algerian city of Constantine, as part of an effort to showcase Kuwaiti creativity in the realm of arts.
Kuwait cultural week is taking place here as part of "Constantine, the capital of Arab Culture 2015" exhibition, with a plethora of craftsmen participating in an exhibition aimed at giving the people of Algeria a glimpse of Kuwaiti culture.
Artist Abdullah Al-Zaid, in a statement to KUNA, said that he had various portraits depicting imaginary figures. "The portraits display human facial features when in a state of agitation," he noted.
"Art is the ultimate platform to display one's skills as it is reflective of civilization," Al-Zaid added.
Meanwhile, painter Fadhel Al-Raees told KUNA, "In my work, I try to deviate from the norm and include as much variety as possible. I am pleased to have been given the opportunity to be exposed to Algerian craftsmanship." Moreover, Head of the Kuwaiti delegation, Dr. Faisal Al-Duwaish, said that the aim of the exhibition is to blend as much elements as possible to create a bigger picture of Kuwaiti culture and creativity.
"Constantine, the capital of Arab Culture 2015" is part of a broader plan to promote Arab culture and facilitate Arab collaborations in the world of arts.
