Saudi Highway Patrol Guides Motorist to Safety

(MENAFN- QNA) Saudi Arabia Highway Patrol guided a motorist to safety after his vehicle raced to 220 kms per hour due to cruise control system malfunction.
The Saudi citizen had set his car on cruise control while driving on Riyadh-Taif road when the incident occurred, Arab News daily reports.
The driver said all his attempts to stop the car failed when it started speeding on its own. He then contacted the Highway Patrol who cleared the traffic and guided him to disable the system on phone.
The motorist called automakers to fix this issue by installing an emergency key in cars to cut off petrol, power or stop the engine.
The report said similar incidents of cruise control malfunctioning have happened in the country earlier.
