Qatar- Abu Hamour market inspection spots 11 violations


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) conducted a surprise inspection tour at the Central Market at Abu Hamour and spotted a total of 11 violations at some of retail shops selling fruits and vegetables, besides the outlets at the Omani market and those in the surrounding areas.

The inspections were aimed at exercising a tighter control on the market, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, when the turnout of customers increases considerably at such places.

The spotted violations were regarding not posting proper price tags on the displayed items, and not using Arabic language on the price tags. Each violation was penalised with a fine of QR6,000 in accordance with the Consumer Protection Law no 8 for 2008.
