(MENAFN - Gulf Times) The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced temporary diversion and partial closure of some roads in Doha.
Traffic will be diverted from Al Aziziya Street Extension - Street 300 from Wednesday for six months, Ashghal said.
The 3km-long street will be closed in both directions from the east of the VIP entrance of Qatar Racing Club to the intersection of Al Aziziya Street Extension with Street 1110.
The closure will allow for the construction of the new Al Aziziya Street Extension-West Corridor Interchange as part of Ashghal's Expressway Programme, West Corridor project.
Traffic will be diverted to an alternative route with the same number of lanes as the existing street to avoid disruption to traffic flow (as shown on the map).
Access to the main and VIP entrances of Qatar Racing Club will remain
from East Industrial Street.
Ashghal also announced that it will close a part of Al Ain Street towards D-Ring Road to enable micro-tunnelling works to build a new pumping station.
The road will remain open to traffic in the other direction.
Also, a part of Dareen Street heading towards Airport Street will be closed. The road will remain open to traffic in the other direction.
The closure starts tomorrow and will continue until October 16. Road users can use Al Aasha Street and local roads in the area during the closure period.
Ashghal urged road users to abide by speed limits and traffic signs for their safety.
