Then, HH the Emir opened the debate with the audience about the role of youth in achieving stability in the Middle East and its future which touched on most prominent current issues at the Arab and international levels such as the Arab spring, the fight against terrorism as well as regional and international relations.
The discussion also included Qatar's efforts to work with other States to ensure the stability of the region and to support young people and help them face challenges.
In reply to a question from the audience about HH current visit to the United States, HH the Emir said that his meetings with the US President and senior officials were fruitful and excellent.
On Qatar's efforts for development, HH the Emir said the State will further continue its efforts of development in all fields for the benefit of the citizens and the future generations, stressing the importance of diversifying sources of income, such as investment and not rely on oil and gas sources.
On whether there is the will and collective strategy by the region's countries to meet the challenges they currently face, HH the Emir said that " the will is existing , and we have the ability to cope with terrorist movements, but we as Arabs, we should depend on ourselves first."(MORE)
