Lithuania's President announces 2015 economic budget


(MENAFN) Lithuanian President signed the first budget in euro for the country, which is targeted at reducing the social gap and to guarantee sustainable economic growth, Xinhua reported.

The budget also ensures more safe living conditions for the Baltic country's citizens due to increase of incomes and raised salaries for those whose wages currently are the lowest.

The country's state revenue will amount to USD9.75 billion and spending will stand at USD10.17 billion, while the military spending is set to account for 1.3 percent of GDP next year.

Economists warned that the country's government might have been too lavish in planning next year's budget, while the Prime Minister said it is based on current economic forecasts for 2015 of 3.4 percent growth.
