Al-Arabi Urges EU Members to Recognise Palestine

(MENAFN - QNA) Arab League Secretary-General Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi on Thursday urged the European Union (EU) member states to recognise the State of Palestine, along the lines of Swedish government's decision.

This came today during Al-Arabi's meeting with the EU member states' ambassadors accredited to Egypt.

In remarks after the meeting, Dr. Al-Arabi said that he had asked the ambassadors of EU member states to support the Arab draft resolution regarding setting a time frame for ending the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

He warned again of the escalation of Israel's unacceptable violations and provocations in Jerusalem, pointing out that the Israeli violations are innumerable and will continue until the end of its occupation of Palestinian territories.
