(MENAFN) Air France announced operating only 40 percent of its flights starting Monday, as pilots begin a one-week strike refusing the cargo's plans to cut costs, Gulf News reported.
The strike, which could extend until September 22, would cost the airline between USD 12.96 million and USD19.44 million a day, the freight's Chief Executive said.
Europe's second-largest carrier said earlier it would move ahead with a plan to open new bases in Europe under the Transavia brand to recapture market share from low-cost carriers and Middle East rivals.
