Abu Dhabi reports 17.3% jump in completion of residential units in Q2


(MENAFN) Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (SCAD) announced that in the second quarter, the number of residential units completed in the emirate jumped by 17.3 percent from the previous quarter, reaching 3,302 units, reported Arabian Business. The agency said that during the period, 1,516 buildings were completed in the capital, adding that 68 percent of the total were in Abu Dhabi region, 23 percent in Al Gharbia and 9 percent in Al Ain. Depending on the total floor area, the interior finishes and intended type of use; the average construction cost per sqm ranged USD820, whereas it ranged USD920.54 per meter. It is worth noting that the highest construction cost was for buildings with a total construction area of between 300-599 sqm, at USD 920.54 per meter, and were generally dedicated for residential use by the property-owner.
