Polish economy may grow to 3% late 2014: CB

(MENAFN) A Polish central bank official said that the country's economy may expand to around 3 percent at the end of 2014, reported Reuters. During the first quarter, the country's economy grew by 0.4 percent, the lowest level in 4 years. As for inflation, which reached 0.8 percent in April, there's a little chance that it will quickly return to the bank's 2.5 percent target, according to Jerzy Hausner, one of the bank's 10 rate-setters. In order to push economic growth, since November 2012, the central bank has lowered interest rates by a total of 175 basis points, with the latest rate cut of 25 basis points in May bringing the bank's key rate to its lowest level of 3 percent.
