Kuwait- Number of MPs back draft on dropping loans' interest

(MENAFN- Arab Times) A number of lawmakers agreed on the need to collaborate in order to adopt the proposal of dropping the interests of loans, affirming to spare no efforts in working on this matter in line with the Constitution, reports Al-Sabah daily. MP Saod Al-Hareeji declared that he agrees on the proposal, indicating that the move to drop loans completely will require intensive study to satisfy all parts. MP Safa Al-Hashim also said she supported the idea of dropping the interests of loans, stressing she has an idea to restructure the interests of these loans. Meanwhile, sources revealed that a number of ministers insisted on voting freely for the Parliament Speaker and his deputy, indicating that the process of governmental coordination should only be on the level of the parliamentary committees, reports Al-Jaridah daily. They said they expected Ali Al-Omair to be the next Parliament Speaker, as most Sunni lawmakers unanimously agree that he has the required characteristics to ensure tranquility and balance among the parliamentary blocs in the coming phase. They further revealed there is disagreement among the Shiite lawmakers over MP Ali Al-Rashid who is also a strong contender for the Speaker position. They indicated that it would be difficult for Al-Rashid to win the position due to the conflicts he is involved in.
