Tajikistan to receive USD100m loan from ADB

(MENAFN) The Asian Development Bank's (ADB) Tajikistan office announced that the Central Asian country will receive a USD100 million loan from the bank to reconstruct a highway that connects the country with Uzbekistan, reported AP. The bank said that the highway is part of a 10,000km road network linking Western Europe and Russia to the Middle East and South Asia. The road is expected to boost regional collaboration and reduce freight costs. It is worth noting that the 113km Aini-Penjikent road in Tajikistan lies along a section of the ancient Silk Route, which once brought a prosperous trade to Central Asia.
