(MENAFN) The new president of Zimbabwe has been sworn in as its new leader and said that the country must now get rid of its corrupted politics, start rebuilding the nation and enroll with world.
The official swearing in of Emmerson Mnangagwa comes a few days after Robert Mugabe resigned, terminating his 37-year rule of Zimbabwe.
As an assistant of Mugabe, Mnangagwa has been said to be responsible for some of Mugabe's restrains and damaging policies, but is assuring that democratic elections will presume as planned next year and that foreign investment is safe in Zimbabwe.
Due to an argument over the growing presidential ambitions of Mugabe's wife, Grace, the former president has discharged Mnangagwa as vice president on Nov. 6.
Mnangagwa said: "We must work together. You, me, all of us who make up this nation," encouraging Zimbabweans who have left their country to participate in the reconstruction of it.
