Jordan- FANA forms committee to bolster Arab news agencies cooperation

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov. 22 (Petra) -- The 45th General Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA), Wednesday, decided to form an ad hoc committee to reunite Arab news providers, thus contribute to fostering further coordination and joint cooperation among them.

The move aims at reuniting state-owned news organizations, activating their current membership of the federation, attending its periodic and annual meetings and ramping up communications with international news agencies.

The committee will be headed by the president of the federation, Kuwait News Agency's Board Chairman and Director General Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah, and will comprise Director General of Jordan News Agency, Faisal al-Shboul and Middle East News Agency Board Chairman and Chief Editor Ali Hassan as members.

The panel was formed due to the lack of participation of a number of news agencies in the federation's meetings and the failure to pay their financial dues.
