Jordan- Petra, KUNA launch a joint cooperation programme
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov. 21 (Petra)-Jordan News Agency and its Kuwaiti counterpart, KUNA, on Tuesday penned a joint cooperation programme to increase news services reciprocity and to foster technical coordination.
The document, inked by Petra's Director General, Faisal Shboul, and KUNA's Board Chairman, Sheik Mubarak Duaij Al-Sabah, will bolster the two news providers' professional work and to sustain swift flow of mutual news items.
In accordance with the accord's provisions, the two parties pledge to coordinate news coverage efforts to serve the two countries' visions and interests on regional and global arenas.
They will also exchange news materials and footages, and concomitantly preserve original goals of their release in accordance with the profession's applicable norms, and direct reference to their source.
Shboul, during the signature ceremony, said this step will bolster cooperation between the two brotherly countries, adding " current circumstances need exceptional collaborative efforts among Arab news agencies." Sheik Mubarak, on his part, said Jordan's role is "supportive and keen" on developing Arab solidarity in the various domains.
The Kuwaiti official also highlighted Petra's continuous efforts to further enhance news quality on the Inter-Arab level, a goal becoming a reality after the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) accredited Petra as its training hub.
