Kuwait- Indian and Nepali held in Salwa liquor factory bust


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Nov 20: Salwa police recently raided an apartment in Salwa and arrested three people — an Indian and two Nepali, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the trio had turned the apartment into a mini factory to manufacture booze. The daily added, the arrest came when police saw one of the suspects carrying a bag and when he saw the police, he took to his heels. Police chased and arrested the man and caught him inside a house where he was hiding. In the bag police found six bottles of booze. Police then raided the apartment and seized 725 bottles ready for sale, 160 jerry cans filled with the brew and alcohol manufacturing equipment. The bootleggers have been referred to the authorities.

Drugs with woman: Customs officers at the Kuwait International Airport have arrested an Asian woman for attempting to smuggle 3 kilogram of marijuana, reports Annahar daily. The daily added, the suspect came from an unidentified GCC country. A security source said the marijuana was neatly hidden in a secret compartment in her bag, but it was discovered by the Xray machine. The contraband and the suspect have been referred to the General Department for Drugs Control.

Family fired at: Police are looking for a Kuwaiti for shooting at the home of another family following a dispute between them, reports Al- Rai daily. The daily added, after the shooting police were informed by the panicked family.
