Saudi- Border guards foil attempts to smuggle cannabis

Riyadh, 01 Rabi'I,1439 AH, 19 November,2017 , SPA -- The border guards in Makkah region and southern regions have arrested infiltrators who tried to smuggle 1,214.771 kilograms of cannabis and 22,010 amphetamine tablets.
The official spokesman said that the border guards in southern regions of Jazan, Najran and Asir were able during the period 22-29 / 2 / 1439 AH to arrest 15 infiltrators of Yemeni nationality and one Ethiopian, while they were attempting to cross the Saudi border with Large quantities of drugs amounting to 963.185 kg of narcotic cannabis.
He added that in another operation, the border guards foiled in Makkah region an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotics, where marine patrols in sector Al-Lyth on 27/2/1439 AH monitored a sea target while trying to cross the border line and intercepted it which resulted in arresting a Yemeni national on board carrying 251.586 kilograms of cannabis and 22,010 amphetamine tablets.
