VIENTIANE, 16th November, 2017 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, on Thursday visited the Pha That Luang historic temple, one of the most important national monuments in Laos.

Sheikh Abdullah toured the monument and viewed the architecture of the building, which dates back to ancient times.

He applauded the cultural movement in Laos and the historic landmarks, which stand as a living proof of the country's deep-rooted civilisation.

He said the UAE respects nations' arts, artefacts and cultures that highlight the concept of tolerance and peaceful co-existence among different cultures and faiths.

"The UAE is founded on such principles, upheld by its founder, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan," Sheikh Abdullah added.

He was accompanied during the visit by Khalid Ibrahim Al Qahtani, UAE's Non-Resident Ambassador to Laos.
