ISTANBUL, Nov 7 (KUNA) -- Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer has called for activating the role of national charity organizations in the executive committees of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC).
This will help national societies keep pace with the major humanitarian issues in the world, and improve the conditions of refugees around the globe, Al-Sayer told KUNA on Tuesday on the sidelines of the IFRC Assembly, Istanbul.
It will also contribute to countering the growing challenges of humanitarian work and enhance the role of volunteers, he said.
Meanwhile, Al-Sayer congratulated head of the Italian Red Cross Francesco Rocca on being elected new IFRC President, as well as his deputies for different region worldwide.
He also congratulated the Libyan and the Palestine Red Crescents on winning seats at the IFRC's board for four years to come.
