RIYADH, 27th October, 2017 (WAM) -- Colonel Turki Al-Maliki, Official Spokesman of the Arab Coalition Forces, which supports the legitimate government of Yemen, said that at 1.17am today, a ballistic missile was fired from Yemeni territory into Saudi territory while adding that the missile was aimed at a border village in Najran Region, targeting civilian areas.

The missile landed on a residential complex inhabited by several expatriate workers affiliated to a national company, which resulted in a fire at the site that was extinguished, as well as loss of private property and a minor injury to a worker.

Al-Maliki was quoted by the Saudi Press Agency, SPA, as stating that this hostile act by the Houthi militias is the result of the continuous smuggling of arms and missiles by certain regional parties that support them, in order to threaten the security of Saudi Arabia, as well as regional and international security.

Firing ballistic missiles at populated cities and villages violates international humanitarian law, he said in conclusion.
