Arab League Chief, Portuguese FM discuss regional and international issues

CAIRO, 20th October, 2017 (WAM) -- Ahmed Aboul-Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League, received Augusto Santos Silva, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, and discussed regional and international issues, focusing particularly on the Palestinian cause and the situation in Syria, Iraq, Libya and Yemen.
According to the MENA News Agency, the Secretary-General praised Portuguese support of the Palestinian cause in international bodies and its opposition to Israeli membership of the UN Security Council for the term 2019-2020.
The Portuguese minister reiterated his country's support to the Palestinian issue and the inalienable rights of its people, MENA said.
