Motorbike sales in Vietnam increase

(MENAFN) According to the Vietnam Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers, Vietnam gained total motorbike sales of 2.4m units in the first 9 months of 2017, up about 6% comparing to the same period in 2016.

According to the association, the majority of the motorbikes were sold by 5 members of the VAMM, with Honda taking the lead, followed by Yamaha, SYM, Piaggio and Suzuki.

The association anticipates that the local motorbike market will stay steady in the near future, in spite of banning motorbikes from running in Hanoi's districts.

According to statistics from motorbike producers and traders in Vietnam, members of VAMW have sold around 3.1m motorcycles in 2016, and by the end of February 2017, the country had 45m motorbikes.
