After inspection, Egypt might reject French wheat

(MENAFN) After finding poppy seeds in a 59.000-tonnes of French wheat, Egypt is considering refusing it, as Egypt's agricultural ministry, was investigating seeds in the French cargo.

Spokesman Hamid Abdel Dayim reported: "If they prove to be poppy seeds, a decision will be taken to reject the shipment and transfer the case to the general prosecutor," making it the second case that's been reported to the general prosecutor, further to a 63.000 tonnes Romanian wheat cargo that was rejected.

After the rejection of the French wheat cargo that was purchased by GASC, trading companies boycotted state tenders, isolating Egypt from international grains market.

Egypt have decided to meet up with the international standards after the boycotts, in order to regain traders to its tenders.
