No extra fee on payment by credit card in Abu Dhabi

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Economic Development Department in Abu Dhabi has ordered all commercial facilities operating in the emirate not to collect any additional fees on credit card transactions.

A decision to this effect was issued by the higher committee for consumer protection of Abu Dhabi Economic Development Department to prevent commercial facilities from collecting additional fees when a customer pays or makes a transaction by his/her credit card.

If caught for the first time, the establishment will get a warning. If the violation is repeated, a fine of Dhs4,000 is slapped, which will go up to Dh6,000 for the third time, and Dhs8,000 for the fourth time.
