Lebanon's energy ministry extends deadline for offshore oil bids

(MENAFN) Lebanon's energy ministry has increased a deadline for bids in its first licensing round for offshore oil and gas exploration to Oct 12.

Meanwhile, the country re-launched the licensing round in Jan after a three-year delay due to political paralysis at home.

Furthermore, the original deadline for pre-qualified firms to submit their bids for exploration and production was Sep 15.

Additionally, the bid extension, confirmed by Energy and Water Minister, came after a recommendation from the Lebanese Petroleum Administration.
