Google follows Apple in removing Iranian apps from store

(MENAFN) Google Play is following the tech giant Apple in removing Iranian apps from its store, as part sanctions against the Islamic Republic from the digital service distributor.

Earlier in 2014, former President Barack Obama had issued a license which allows Google and Apple to host Iranian apps reportedly.

However, in August, Apple removed a ride-hailing app which is similar to Uber in Iran from its app store, and it was followed by the removal of apps for food delivery, shopping and other services.
