Fire at oil pipeline in southwest Iran


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency ) Fire broke out in an oil pipeline in this southwestern provincial city, Khuzestan Province, on Friday evening due to breaking of part of the pipeline, IRNA reported.

According to a provincial fire station official, the fire started at 20:33 hours local time (16:03 GMT) near Quds garrison located in Sheyhoun road in Dezful's suburbs.

'The fire was caused by breaking of a part of the pipeline and oil leakage,' Abdolhossein Moa'zamfar, head of Dezful fire station told IRNA after the incident.

He added that the fire was reported 'by one of the Dezful citizens.'

According to Moa'zamfar, provincial firefighters have been dispatched to the site of the fire immediately and managed to control it.

'A group of oil experts also arrived at the site of the fire to close the pipeline,' he added.
