JERUSALEM, 8th September, 2017 (WAM) -- Israeli forces Thursday detained 20 Palestinians in multiple predawn raids that mostly triggered clashes across the West Bank, said Palestine Prisoner's Society, PPS.
According to the Palestine News Agency, WAFA, Israeli forces raided Izzariyeh, southeast of Jerusalem, where they detained at least five Palestinians, including a minor, after ransacking their homes.
"Police also detained three Palestinians from Jerusalem's Old City and nearby Silwan neighborhood," added WAFA, quoting PPS as saying that five other Palestinians were detained in similar raids in East Jerusalem district.
Meanwhile, Israeli undercover forces detained a Palestinian young man from Jalazoun refugee camp, north of Ramallah. In subsequent raids across Ramallah and al-Bireh district, Israeli troops detained three Palestinians.
In the northern West Bank, troops raided in a number of Qalqiliya district villages and towns, including Jayyous, where they detained two Palestinians and ransacked scores of homes. Another Palestinian was detained during a raid that triggered clashes in Burqin, southwest of Jenin.
