Gaza receives first proper cinema in three decades


(MENAFN) Gazan people will be able to go the cinema for the first time in more than 30 years, although for one night only.

Additionally, the Samer Cinema in Gaza, the oldest in the strip will host a special screening of a film about Palestinians in Israeli prisons.

Moreover, the Islamist Hamas has controlled for 10 years and there are no functioning cinemas in the Palestinian territory.

There was a fire at one cinema in 1987 which was thought to have been the work of Islamists who consider cinema ungodly.
