Chief of Defence Staff assures no threat to national security

Chief of Defence Staff Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne today assured there was no threat to national security.

Speaking to reporters in Kandy, Wijegunaratne said that the military and the Police are doing their job and so there is no threat.

The joint opposition had said that recent incidents reported from the North showed there is a threat to national security.

Wijegunaratne said that if anyone says there is a threat to national security they know what steps must be taken to address it. (Colombo Gazette)
