Sudanese parliament speaker applauds Kuwait efforts to defend Arab causes


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Aug 16 (KUNA) -- Speaker of the Sudanese National Congress Ibrahim Omar on Wednesday spoke highly of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for his commendable stances on the fair issues of the Arab and Muslim nations.

Omar expressed hope that His Highness the Amir would be able to resolve the Arab problems, particularly the Gulf crisis.

He was speaking to reporters at Kuwait's National Assembly following his talks with his Kuwaiti counterpart Marzouq Al-Ghanim.

The Sudanese top lawmaker also commended the efforts being made by Al-Ghanim to support the Palestine question and promote the role of the Kuwaiti parliament on the regional and international arenas.

"In support for Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Arab residents of Jerusalem against the Israeli malpractices, Al-Ghanim spearheads the Arab lobbying for dismissal of Israel from the membership of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU)," Omar pointed out.

He reaffirmed Sudan's backing to these efforts.

He expressed desire to promote the political, economic and parliamentary relations with Kuwait On his meeting with Al-Ghanim, he said that he had "fruitful talks on the bilateral ties and international parliamentary cooperation.

"We agreed to enhance visit exchanges and strengthen the parliamentary relationship and coordinate stances on international issues based on the signed documents in this regard," Omar added. (pickup previous) nma.jk.gb
