Two killed in Lebanese military operation in Baalbek


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, July 11 (KUNA) -- Lebanese security sources announced on Tuesday that two terrorists were killed in a military operation carried out by the army in the outskirts of Arsal northern Lebanon.

According to the source, Syrian national Yasser Al-Ghawi, the mastermind of Baalbek bombings, was killed during the operation.

At least seven explosive devices and belts were seized during the operation, the source added.

Last May, the Lebanese army found two explosive devices in Ras Baalbek town.

Later in the month, a terrorist blew himself up and injured a number of Lebanese servicemen northeast of Lebanon. (end) ayb.haq
