UN envoy discusses Libya's stability, reconciliation in Algeria


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ALGEIRS, Sept 3 (KUNA) -- The UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Libya Martin Kobler has said that Algeria plays a significant role for realizing stability and reconciliation in the neighboring North African country.

The visiting envoy made the statement to the Algerian TV on the sidelines of his participation in a symposium held at the foreign ministry on developments in Libya.

Kobler pointed to the ongoing efforts seeking a political solution to end anarchy in Libya, in cooperation with neighboring states.

The UN envoy, who started earlier today a visit to Algeria, is due to have talks later with Minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and the Arab League Abdelkader Messahel on the latest developments on the political path in Libya, as well as the efforts to realize peace and reconciliation in the country.
