(MENAFN- Morocco World News) On the occasion of Throne Day, celebrated every year on July 30, Tamesna Association of Fine Arts organizes the tenth World Plastic Arts Forum (FIAP Nawafid 10) under the banner 'Spirituality of Plastic Art' on July 22nd- 31st 2016.
The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture, the province of Casablanca Settat, as well as the Regional Council. It is also in partnership with the Municipal Council and the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Culture in Settat. The program of the forum began with the opening of the exhibition by taking a tour through its galleries. The latter displayed the artwork of the participants as well as the works of children and youths who are members of Tamesna Association. Shortly afterwards short speeches were provided by: the head of Tamesna Association of Fine Arts; the municipal chairman; a spokesperson of the regional directorate of the ministry of culture in Settat and the chairwoman of El Mekki Moursia Institution for Arts. Later on, the organising association paid tribute and honoured two Moroccan Artists. The first one happened to be the departed El Mekki Moursia, one of the pioneers of plastic art in Morocco, in the presence of his daughter Arabia Moursia. The second honored person was Abdelhak Zerouali, a Moroccan theatre artist. Roughly sixty artists from different countries, namely Egypt, Russia, Ukraine, Algeria, and Saudi Arabia in addition to Morocco, are participating in this artistic event. Although the artists belong to various schools, they came together to form a mosaic of brilliant colours carrying rays of love, peace and tolerance. 'We hope that this event constitutes an opportunity for artists to share their experiences and knowledge about plastic art,' said Said Moslim, the head of Tamesna Association of Fine Art. 'We have always been keen on involving youth and amateurs in this cultural project, because we believe that the biggest bet we must win is the younger generation. We need, therefore, to provide them with the necessary conditions so that they can hone their artistic skills,' he added.
