Doha: The Ministry of Water and Sanitation in Burkina Faso commended QC";s projects which seek to provide drinking water to hundreds of thousands of inhabitants and their cattle. Through this year and past years, QC have drilled wells and worked hard to address the shortfalls of this field and to limit the dangers of the polluted water.

The Ministry";s commendation was announced simultaneously with QC announcement about finishing the drilling of 52 artesian and water wells which were drilled during this year";s first quarter for the mentioned region.

The 52 artesian and water wells project was beneficial to around 25,340 people who live in the driest areas. 18 of the 52 wells were artesian and 7 of which work using solar energy. Each well consists of a tank, a network of tubes and a basin to water the cattle. The remaining 34 water wells had manual pumps. During the first quarter of last year, QC drilled 36 artesian and water wells.

Niouga Ambroise Ouédraog, Secretary General of Public Affairs Department at the Ministry of Water and Sanitation in Burkina Faso, commended QC";s achievements in the country. 'QC secured drinking water for hundreds of thousands of inhabitants, especially in areas that suffer from problems due to water pollution which increases the number of spread diseases and epidemics”, he said.

He stressed on the importance of water projects supervised by QC, which greatly and effectively contribute to the stability of millions of inhabitants and farmers living in villages. Such projects secure the people a dignified life that guarantees their basic rights without forcing them to go to neighbouring areas fleeing from drought and diseases.

Engineer Khaled Abdullah Al Yaf";i, Director of Operation Management at QC";s Executive Management, expressed his deep gratitude for the people of Qatar and people living there who support and donate for important projects which meet the basic needs of people; especially in countries that suffer from drought and water scarcity. These projects contribute to providing the means of stability to beneficiaries and help them avoid the risks of polluted water. 'These facts show the true giving face of the Qatari community. We are very proud to hear such testimony that shows the great impact of QC";s developmental projects and the positive change they make in the beneficiaries"; lives,” he said.

QC pays extra attention to drilling wells and considers it a main field in the projects it implements for regions that suffer from drought and water scarcity such as Burkina Faso, which is one of the African countries that suffers most from the scarcity of drinking water.

QC has recently implemented multiple water and educational projects in Burkina Faso from which 150,000 people benefited. The beneficiaries were from different states and areas that suffer from thirst and water scarcity. These areas also suffer from shortages in schools. The total cost of the projects reached more than QR1,500,000.
