UAE- Man who broke driver's jaw after road rage jailed


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Sharjah Misdemeanor Court has sentenced an Asian man to six months in jail and Dh20,000 fine for hitting a man and breaking his jaw after a road brawl.

According to the court records, the victim was driving his car on Emirates Road on February 17, towards Sharjah while he overtook the defendant. The Asian man got upset with the victim and chased him to Sharjah. He overtook the car of the victim and blocked him on the road. The victim was pulled out of the vehicle and punched by the accused.

According to medical reports, he sustained a 20 per cent disability due to the attack.

The accused was arrested after a complaint filed by the victim. During the police and prosecution interrogation, he confessed to the crime.

In another case, the Sharjah Shariah Criminal Court sentenced three Asians, including a woman, to eight months in jail to be followed by deportation on charges and immoral activities and adultery.
