71 Omanis stranded in Turkey to return on Monday night

A special Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) aircraft is bringing back 71 Omanis stranded in Turkey.

Speaking to Muscat Daily , Seham al Hadaabi, first secretary at the Omani Embassy in Ankara said, 'The RAFO aircraft reached Turkey at 3pm (local time) on Monday and left at 5pm. The flight has 71 people on board and will arrive at the RAFO Airport by 11pm.'

She said that there are around 500 Omanis in Turkey. 'The embassy is in touch with them. Most of them are staying back as the situation is in control.'

The embassy has said that Omani nationals must abide by the laws of Turkey. 'The embassy and the consulate are working together to overcome all difficulties faced by Omani nationals. We will ensure their safe return to homeland.
