DOHA: More than 50 members of various Filipino photography clubs in Qatar recently participated in Photoshoot for a Cause featuring Filipino actresses Sam Pinto and Daiana Menezes.

Organised by the Alliance of Filipino Journalists in Qatar (AFJQ), the charity event held at the InterContinental Doha The City raised more than QR5,000, majority of which to be donated to World Vision Philippines which is the world";s largest international children";s charity that has been active in various rural and urban poor communities in the Philippines.

The charity group recently paid a visit in Doha seeking support from the community and AFJQ was one of the groups who expressed interest.

The charity project is also set to provide additional classroom chairs in a high school located in the province of Batangas. The school needs more chairs with the expected increase in student population with the introduction of K-12 programme which restructures the basic education system in the Philippines.

'On behalf of the officers and members of AFJQ, I would like to thank all those who supported and participated in the shoot. We had almost 100 percent turnout of those who registered in the project. We gathered photographers from six photography clubs recognised by the Philippine Embassy,” said AFJQ Board Member and Blink President Renan Princena.

Aside from the photographers, the project was also supported by talented Filipino designers and hair and make-up artists in Doha.
