Iranian MP escapes assassination attempt

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TEHRAN, July 10 (KUNA) -- Iranian lawmaker Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh and governor of Qasr-e Shirin escaped an assassination attempt, MP from Qasr-e Shirin Farhad Tajari said on Sunday.
Tajari told ISNA news agency that driver of the governor was killed and the governor was injured. Tajri said a vehicle, which was carrying some officials, including Falahatpisheh, was attacked by four unidentified gunmen who opened fire on the car and fled the scene on foot.
He added that he was on a mission to Rijab region of Kermanshah to probe problems of the local people and was made the target of "terrorists", ISNA said. (end) mw.tb.hm
